Meet Patty Hlava, Ph.D., C.MI. and
Laura Stephan, Psy.D., LP
Dr. Patty Hlava is a director of identity evolution specializing in Ayurveda, yoga, and
psychology. She has been guiding people into to best versions of themselves for over
15 years. In 2018, she retired from her clinical psychotherapy practice to develop Awaken, a signature program within AwakenPeace Healing. As a certified Yoga Health Coach, ICDS Intrinsic coach™, meditation instructor, and registered yoga teacher, Patty is an expert in guiding others toward sustainable habit changes for mind, body, and spirit. She holds a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology and has over 7 years of experience teaching graduate courses in University settings and providing clinical supervision. Dr. Hlava has been involved in research and teaching on the subject of gratitude since 2006. Her research has been published in the International Journal of Transpersonal Psychology and Journal of Humanistic Psychology, as well as in several books. As co-founder of AwakenPeace, she thrives on the opportunity to create and participate in nurturing community and heartfelt connections.
Laura Stephan, Psy.D., LP is a clinical psychologist whose expertise lies in helping others tap into their innate capacity for wellbeing. Laura is skilled at building the right environment to allow natural healing to flow. Using traditional psychotherapy as well as somatic mindfulness and movement practices, she is thrilled to help others find their personal path toward feeling at home in their bodies and minds. Laura has provided mental health services since 2010 in chronic illness and brain injury rehabilitation, neuropsychology, community health, and trauma communities. Across these settings she has learned that everyone can access healing mindfulness and movement. She meets each person where they are, collaboratively creating a path toward wellbeing from that place. Laura co-founded AwakenPeace as a way to provide new avenues to access healing community, especially for those feeling lost in the mainstream health world.
